This is
Clwb Cledlyn's main fund-raising event of the year, and was held in
Llanwenog on Saturday 25th August 2007, having originally been rained off
in June. There was a wide range of activities including children's sports
events, art and cake-decorating competitions, a 5-a-side soccer tournament, Sumo
wrestling for adults, a "stay dry challenge" event for teams of
children and adults, face-painting, a BBQ, refreshments and cake and bottle
stalls, car boot sale and much more.
Once again the event was a great success achieving its two aims - to provide a
fun-filled day for the local community and to raise a substantial sum for the
playground. The event raised over £1,600 for the playground scheme.
The Clwb Cledlyn management committee would like to pass on their sincere
gratitude to everyone who helped with, sponsored and supported the event.
We are particularly indebted to Mr Daff Davies & family, Abertegan, for
kindly allowing us the use of their field and to Mr
and Mrs D Evans, Hendre'r Dail, this year's
Sports & Fun Day Presidents.
