Current Competitions
28th April 2011: What's in
the Mirror Competition
This competition is kindly sponsored by
Eleri & Bryan Lewis at Cardiau Cain - producers of quality,
handcrafted greetings cards in Welsh and English.
The prize is 2 packs of greetings cards in either Welsh or
English.
Closing date: 30th June 2011.
2nd Jan 2010: Drefach,
Llanwenog Crossword Puzzle STOP PRESS - there is
a rumour that someone has cracked all but one of the questions. This
shows that the puzzle can be answered. Go
on, give it a try! It really isn't particularly difficult and should be
entertaining.
We still haven't received a winning entry
for the puzzle posted on 28th Nov 2009, so:
 | the closing date has been extended indefinitely,
and |
 |
the prize is now a bottle of wine plus a box of
chocolates. |
This is a cryptic crossword including many clues about local places and people. It is
predominantly in English, but a few clues may require the use of a
Welsh-English/ English-Welsh dictionary or the help of a Welsh speaker.
16th Dec 2009: 1959
Quiz Our Treasurer, Rosemary, married Pat on 6th
December 1959. See photos of their Golden Wedding Anniversary
celebrations earlier this month and, just for fun, test your knowledge of
other events that year.
Previous Competitions
13th Nov 2008: COMPETITION CLOSED;
winner Steve Greenfield.
There's a photo of someone at the Bonfire Night/BBQ
holding a can of lager who (thanks to the skill of the photographer!) is partly
out of shot. Who is it?
A bottle of wine to the first person to email the correct answer using
the email link at the bottom of this page (collect only, one entry per person). Congratulations
to Steve for being quick off the mark and correctly identifying Hefin
Davies, then Club Chairman. For those who missed the question, the next competition
will decide the winner from a draw of correct entries rather than the
first entry to arrive. |
