These will together cost £47,000 and will be the subject of a Biffaward Grant bid.
This is under the Landfill Tax Credit Scheme by which landfill site operators are able to reduce their tax bills by donating funds for the benefit of communities in the proximity of their landfill and other waste management sites.
This bid would depend on receiving a Community Fund contribution of £4,600 and an equivalent contribution derived from club fund raising. We, therefore, have a target of £4,600 to raise within 6 months or so. We will be writing to a range of appropriate fund-giving bodies and to approach possible local sponsors/benefactors. We would expect to learn whether our bid has been successful by May or June 2009.
This is a much-needed local facility.
